Make no mistake about it – our children are like little sponges. Even if you do not know it they watch, see and record everything you do. This most certainly applies to alcohol consumption.

Every child deserves a fair chance. Every child deserves to be born not addicted to drugs. However, today the fact remains that thousands of babies are being born addicted to drugs ranging from crack to prescription medication.

Should people have to get a license in order to have children? Should they be forced to take drug classes before they can conceive? Don’t laugh – given the high rate of infant addiction and behavior of parents this could be a legitimate issue.

Chaperones play an important role in keeping our children safe. The last thing we want to hear is that our kids were not being looked after in a responsible manner by the adults entrusted to keeping them safe when on a trip.
I recently read about a school field trip gone wrong and it made my skin crawl. It happened in Illinois according to NorthJersey.com.

Adena Health System (http://www.adena.org/) is applying for grant money to help stem the tide of babies being born to drug-addicted mothers.

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHS) provides an invaluable service. When a baby is born with drugs in its system and the moth tests positive as well, they are responsible for monitoring the situation.
In a report on a baby's death, an oversight agency last week found DHS workers left the girl with her mother even though both had illegal drugs in their systems when the child was born.
