As a recovering drug addict and alcohol I know that you cannot stereotype an addict. Perhaps my opinion is more well-regarded not by the fact that I am a recovering addict how is almost 11 years sober, but that I need am a counselor for both in-class and online drug classes.
Addicts come from every race, every religion and every socio-economic background.
Progressive Disease – Directly Proportional1.
The biggest difference among addicts is their degree of functionality. They range from close to fully-functional to a point where their addiction is destroying their lives. Addiction is a progressive disease be it drugs or alcohol. It is a directly proportional relationship – as addiction gets worse so too does productivity
Now every person is different, however, every person’s productivity is hampered by addiction. In other words, if you are addicted to drugs or alcohol there is no way you are operating at 100%!
For some, they may be close to fully-functional for quite some time. But guaranteed, productivity and quality of life will diminish over time. For others the deterioration happens quickly.
The message is simple – to live your life to the fullest do not use drugs or alcohol. Do not allow addiction. If you or someone you care about is addicted to drugs or alcohol please seek help immediately. If you prefer to maintain anonymity there are both 8 hour online drug classes and online 8 hour alcohol classes.
