How messed up can you get from doing drugs and alcohol?  I guaranty you one thing – this is about as bad as it gets.  The following story took place in the Old Country – good old, England.

Darren Penfold , a TV aerial fitter has been found guilty of sexually assaulting an 83-year-old woman after he drugged her drink. Penfold, 48, put the drugs into a glass of whisky when he was working at her house in 2010.

The woman came round on her bed the next day partially clothed and with no recollection of how she got upstairs.  Penfold was remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced next month.

Seemed Like A Normal Guy

Penfold was not some indigent.  He had a job and a family and seemed to many to be “normal.”  At one point he may have been normal, but after years of alcohol and drug abuse he lost all sense of rationality.  The father-of-three was convicted of sexual assault and administering a substance to overpower the woman.

Adding insult to injury he was also found guilty of stealing four bottles of alcohol from the woman's home.

Because Penfold used two Class C controlled drugs in the attack the judge warned him his sentence would be a long one!

The woman - who is now 85 - woke up on her bed and called police when she began to remember that a man had abused her.

Giving evidence, Penfold said he was "absolutely mortified" when the allegations were first put to him by police.  He still claims that he can’t believe he was even accused of doing that to anyone, let alone an 83-year-old woman.

It certainly can seem like a sick world.  I like to believe the best in people, but this story really makes me sick.
