Would you agree that using drugs and alcohol diminishes your ability to perform? The only thing alcohol and drugs promote is poor decision making. There is no doubt using drugs and alcohol inhibits the body to perform athletics at a high caliber.

The public perception on marijuana use has changed dramatically over the years. Every addict with a needle in their arm knows they are making a mistake. When you buy your weed from your buddy or sibling, there is a moral disconnect — the perception is that it is not wrong. As reported in bamahammer.com.

When considering whether or not marijuana is really a problem in this country consider the following.

First, according to a recent study, 60 percent of teens consider their high school to be infested with drugs. This means drugs are readily available for sale or use on campus.

Second, nearly half report that they get their drugs or alcohol at home from family or close friends. The number who believe marijuana is not dangerous is growing at virtually exponential rates.

When Do Kids go to Rehab for Marijuana?

Kids who go to rehab start using marijuana at an early age. I would have thought 17-20. The truth is the first use of marijuana for teens in rehab is typically around age 12.

Even more frightening the average age for teens in treatment as 14.

If high-octane (THC level) regular marijuana being so readily available is not terrifying enough for parents, the fact that there are numerous strains of synthetic marijuana available make it mind-numbing. Synthetic marijuana use is on the rise.

Underage 8 hour drug classes can only help in our fight to keep kids off of drugs and alcohol. As the parent of a teenager I want to do everything possible to help my child succeed.
