The Law

According to the Liquor License Act of Ontario:

(8) No person under nineteen years of age shall have, consume, attempt to purchase, purchase or otherwise obtain liquor. R.S.O. 1990, c. L.19, s. 30 (8).

If a purveyor of liquor has reasonable grounds to believe someone is buying for a minor, the Liquor License Act gives them the right to refuse the sale.

The Penalties

The Liquor License Act of Ontario states that “an individual is liable to a fine of not more than $200,000 or to imprisonment for a term of not more than one year or both” (1997, c. 10, s. 24; 1998, c. 24, s. 14 (2))

How do I pay for my class? What payment methods are accepted?

You will be asked to pay for your MIP class during the enrollment process. For your convenience, we accept e-checks and major credit cards, both by phone and our secure SSL encrypted online payment-processing service.

Exactly how much do the MIP classes cost?

The cost of each course is dependent on the scope of the program; longer classes cost more than shorter classes. The prices can be seen below:

8-Hour (Level 1) MIP Class – $149.00
12-Hour (Level 2) MIP Class – $199.00
16-Hour (Level 2) MIP Class – $249.00
24-Hour (Level 3) MIP Class – $319.00

How do I access my course materials?

You will access our MIP classes online, from a computer, laptop, or mobile device. Once you have completed the enrollment and registration process, you will be able to login immediately to get started.

Am I allowed to take a break and change computers at any time?

Yes. You can complete our online MIP classes at your own pace. Feel free to start and stop as often as you'd like.

How will I receive my Certificate of Completion?

We provide complimentary shipping of Certificates of Completion for all class enrollees.

How much time is usually required to complete the MIP class?

The duration of the course will depend on which course you are enrolled in and how quickly you complete the course. At ODC, we offer 8-Hour, 12-Hour, 16-Hour and 24-Hour Minor-in-Possession classes.

I did not pass the final exam for my MIP class. Now what?

Simply take it again! You can take the final exam as many times as is needed to pass (a passing score is 80 percent or greater). If you completed this course in person, you wouldn't have such a luxury!
