As a counselor for both in-class and online alcohol classes I would like to save the most important information about how to get and stay sober a secret until you take one of my alcohol awareness classes.
However, for my loyal readers, I am sure you have the information at hand since I write about it all the time. The key will follow.
COMMITMENT
That one word defines what it takes to get sober and stay sober. That does not mean that you have to do it all on your own. Getting sober and staying there is much more likely to be successful if you involve as many people as possible.
First, you have to commit to getting clean. That commitment begins with you. Even if you have doubts at the beginning – commit to stopping.
Once you have committed, involve your friends, family or social group (like Alcoholics Anonymous) so that you have a support network. A good alcohol class, including online alcohol classes, is a great way to get a foundation. Consider this 24 hour class: www.onlinedrugclass.com/AlcoholAwarenessClass/24-Hour-Level-3
Of course that is just the start. A good support network, especially if you are around others going through getting and staying sober, will help you make your commitment more firm. Now you are committing to yourself and to others. Good luck.
