I have long been of the opinion that celebrities should not be role models. Despite my wishes, the reality of the situation remains that America and the rest of the world can’t seem to get enough info on celebrities and they remain role models.

Here are a couple of the “celebrities” that need to take a drug class and have not modeled good behavior. This is part of a series of blogs on celebrity role models.

Amber Portwood – This is one woman that never should have been a celebrity. She is the poster-child for why reality TV sucks the life out of our society. Her addiction to drugs was so bad that she failed to appear to a pair of court appearances and chose to spend five years behind bars. Oh yeah, her claim to fame was being on the reality show Teen Mom.

Matthew Underwood – While not technically a reality star, Underwood’s brief encounter with celebrity occurred on the show Zoey 101 starring Britney Spears’ little sister, Jamie Lynn. Ironically, Underwood’s career ended when little Spears got pregnant at age 16 and became a teen mom herself. The 22-year-old Underwood was charged with possession of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a minor as he was getting high with his 17-year-old live-in girlfriend. Some role model, right?

These two are marginal celebrities at best, however, they still have their adoring fans and it would be nice if they could comport themselves in a responsible manner.
